One to watch // Dean Quinn

Love this collection by Dean Quinn for SS12. The cuts, palette and styles are perfection. I hear Desordre will be stocking some of the pieces in the months to come...I imagine it'll be out of my price range though:( Still well worth a mention as I think this designer will be a knockout in the seasons to come if this collection is anything to go by.

Trend // Neon (I still love it)

I still love neon, is that bad? I mean how can you not when it comes in the form of these lovely pieces. My favourites the Adidas 'Originals' jacket and the Acne jumper (neon pink jumper pic 2) although I wouldn't mind any of them.

New In // Sass & Bide Coat of Arms belt

Last week I took a trip down to Sass & Bide for the launch of their Seekerstate collection. I wasn't planning on purchasing anything after my last purchase but was enticed by the 10% discount store-wide. I'd been eying the 'Coat of Arms' belt and 'The Busy Space' bag for some time and with both being top sellers I decided I needed one of them in my life before they both sold out. In the end I decided on the belt, mostly because I'd get more wear out of it. I have to say it's absolutely stunning and offers great versatility. I'm still pining over the bag, particularly because I love the style and colour but I'll hold off for a while. Hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot with that comment.

Also, apologies about the lack of posts mid week. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the busiest days of my week. So much going on at work and home at the moment and I'm being driven loopy by the rainbow lorikeets feeding on nectar and pollen from the trees in our little rainforest. They're gorgeous birds but unfortunately are early risers....I swear there must be about 100+ of them out there and they haven't stopped with the raucous screeching, squeaking and chattering.

If there's one designer that stands above the rest in my world, and epitomises my desired style most, it's Alexander Wang. I'm literally frothing at the mouth looking at these pics. While I'll probably never get to buy any of these pieces a girl can dream right? Mr Wang you never fail to impress.

Collection // Watson X Watson

I stumbled across this fairly new label today, Valentines Day and what can I say...I'm a little bit love struck. What I adore is the refined yet easy pieces that seem adaptable to day and night. Watson X Watson, who are the creative designers behind the brand, Somer and Liberty Watson are also sisters and say that their designs are “any-day and everyday pieces ... The kind you dress up and dress down …” I can't wait to see more of this collection and I have my heart set on the 3 toned jumper and leather shorts. My list of wish items is quickly growing and I am concerned for my credit card, it's already endured a huge beating.

Tech // Now on Instagram and new Sass & Bide denim

I've jumped on the Instagram bandwagon. You can find me by searching for staraboveparvati. As I'm a newbie I'd love to find you guys on their too so send me some links so i can follow you too. I'll be adding pics every now and then so drop by and let me know what you think. These are a couple of shots I took the other day of my brand spanking new Sass & Bide 'Raising the Bar' Zippora spray ons. I'm absolutely smitten with them and they're so super soft and comfy. They have a neat little zip feature at the back of the ankle and are just the most divine thing in my wardrobe at the moment. Anyone else splurge this week at all?

Keep your eye out for Mary Katrantzou's capsule collection for Topshop. The queen of vibrant prints is doing a small run of affordable pieces and my guess is they will sell super fast. I'd tell you the release date but then I'd have to kill you....hehe, just kidding. It's February 17th, so circle it in your diary with a big fat red marker. First in best dressed I imagine:)

Beauty // Tangerine Dream

Thought I'd share these lovely tangerine inspired looks with you for some inspiration. I'm not quite sure I can pull these looks off as I have a yellow/peachy tone and shades of orange looks a bit blah on me but i guess something a little more subtle might work. The looks (by Jaeger, Rick Owens and Michael Kors from their Spring/Summer 12 shows collectively) are featured in the Myer emporium mag and if you can't pick up a copy instore a free downloadable app is available via itunes.

Collaboration // Topshop and Britain’s New Generation

The brits are some of my fav when it comes to fashion design. I love their flair and vivacity. So it's no surprise that I can't wait to snap up one of these Topshop tee's which are part of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN scheme. The scheme sees Topshop collaborate with some of Britain's best (Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou, Roksanda Ilincic, Jonathan Saunders, Emma Cook and Peter Jensen to name a few). My personal fav's are by JW Anderson and Erdem. Do you lovelies have a favourite?

Health & Beauty // New from Kiehl's

I picked up this new product last week on my way home from work. Since using it I have noticed my skin feeling smoother, which is what I was after. What I wanted to mention, was that I also picked up some samples (as I'm looking for a new skin regime). Which brings me to the crux of this post. Ladies, don't be shy to ask for samples when shopping for beauty products. How many times have you bought a product and tried it a few times only to stop using it. It sits in your vanity collecting dust. God if I had a dollar for every time I did that I'd be able to afford that Isabel Marant jacket I've been dreaming about. So, a while ago I pledged that I would only buy products I'd sampled. That way I know I'll use it. Just some friendly advice:)

Campaign // The Modern Utopian by ManiaMania

I have a general rule I abide by when wearing jewellery and that is, if the outfit screams colour and texture I generally wear minimal pieces. On the other hand if my outfit is minimal in nature I go all out with jewellery. Enter ManiaMania and you have the perfect pieces that are not only gorgeous but are chameleon like and can be adapted to both outfit situations. These shots are from the upcoming collection titled 'The Modern Utopian'. Hope you like them;)

Wanted to share this beautiful Mimco campaign with you all. It's called Dreamwarp Society and is inspired by the notion of '8 rounds' (for more details head over to the website). The pics feature model Alyssa Sutherland and she looks stunning in these pics. I have my eye on a few lovely pieces but for now they're pure eye candy. I really can't afford more bags and accessories sadly.
